Poster Competion
The aim of this activity is to encourage Zamorano alumni in academia and industry to share their research/focus area with all the attendees to the 4 th symposium of Zamoranos in the United States. First, second and third place will receive a monetary compensation. All poster presenters will receive a certificate of participation.
1 st place: $200
2 nd place: $150
3 rd place: $100
Eligibility *
All Zamorano alumini considered as:
Visiting scholars
* M.Sc. and Ph.D students
* Industry or academy employees
*Based on number of posters received, several categories may be arranged.
Abstract Selection Criteria
* Scientific merit
* Relevance in the Agricultural area
* Innovation
* Practical application and impact to Latin-American countries
* Your abstract must include the following areas: abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusions, practical application
* No more than 350 words
* Proper listed all authors and affiliation
* All abstracts must be in English
Poster presentation rules and guidelines
** Each poster presenter is responsible to print and bring the accepted poster.
** Poster must be no bigger than 3x4 ft.
** No audiovisuals equipment or support is allowed in the poster board area (i.e. no power point, special animation, etc.).
** Your posters must include the following areas: abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, and conclusions.
** All poster boards will be pre-numbered and you will receive your presenter number after your abstract had been accepted. Please be certain to mount your poster on the correct board.
** First authors are the only one allowed to compete in the poster presentation. If you plan on sending someone else, you must let us know at least 2 weeks in advance.
** A badge with your name and poster number will be provided. Make sure you have it at the time of your presentation, since the judges will have your badge information on the evaluation sheets.
** All posters must be in English.

Photography contest: “The meaning of the Z”
This contest aims to make all of us bring back lots of memories from our Alma Mater, Zamorano. Also, we want to give credit to those who captured in a photo those good moments and places.
Contest details:
* The topic of this contest is ‘Zamorano’. Three different categories will be made which are as followed:
+ Learning by doing
+ Panamericanism and fraternity
+ Campus landscape, natural resources and buildings
* Photos must be sent to zaslsu@lsu.edu by September 30, 2016.
* Photos sent must be of your own authorship and must be original (no photoshoot).
* One photo per participant is allowed.
* Photo format must be JPG or similar format. If we are not able to open your photo, you will lose the opportunity to participate.
* You should send your photo and give it a name related to its content, also specify in which category you would like your photo to be included.
* We will take care of printing all the photos and they will be placed during the symposium for attendees to make their evaluations.
* All attendees to the symposium (excluding the participants of the contest) will receive an evaluation sheet where they will be asked to put the name of their favorite photo per each category. Frequency count will be made to select one winner per category.
